Support for families of children with dyslexia

Family Support Network

Dyslexia Midlands Family Support Network is a Kenilworth-based community group dedicated to supporting families of children with dyslexia.

Once a month (usually the fourth Monday of the Month), there is a support group forĀ  parents and carers of children with additional needs (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ASD, ADD/ADHD).

Upcoming 2020 dates:
Currently suspended, due to COVID-19. Please check back for rescheduled dates.

Held 8:30-9:30pm in the ‘Small Upstairs Room’ at the Kenilworth Centre, Abbey End Car Park, Kenilworth, CV8 1QJ – just turn up.

Specialist talks

We regularly invite experts, such as educational psychologists, counsellors and occupational therapists, to give talks for parents on issues relating to dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties.

Holiday workshops

During holiday periods, we sometimes offer low-cost learning workshops for parents and children. These workshops typically involve sessions with counsellors, tutors, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, legal experts, etc.

Trips and activities

Parents often organise trips and outings for dyslexic children/teenagers and their families.

Meeting other parents

We encourage parents and carers to meet up outside of the support group. A chat over a cup of coffee can be invaluable!
